Well, i’m quickly adapting to life here in wyoming. My first week of work went pretty well. It’s a pretty laid back atmosphere around here, something I’m trying to get used to. I was told by my boss to pace myself. I guess i will do my best with that.

I haven’t really been able to be active yet. I did a little hiking the first day i was here, but after realizing i was pretty sick, i stopped that. I need to figure out something, otherwise i’m gonna get a pretty severe case of cabin fever by the time it’s all said and done. It hasn’t snowed much since the first day i was here. But everybody keeps saying enjoy it while it lasts, because pretty soon there will be more snow than you can imagine. The lodge is still a few weeks away from being open, which means it will be pretty slow around here until then. Not many workers are here yet. I haven’t really met anybody to hang out with, but that’s ok. I’m in no hurry.

It’s about an hour into Jackson, where I have to buy groceries. The drive isn’t bad because it’s through the national park. However, when it starts to snow pretty good, that road won’t be much fun because it’s windy and hilly. I ten to just wonder around the grocery store, as i want to make the most of my time in town. There are a lot of restaurants that look pretty good, but so far i’ve only tried out a few sandwich places.

I was moved into an office all by myself. It’s actually an old little cabin, which has been used as a storage place. While it’s not your typical office, it is pretty cool and a quiet little place. I’m excited i won’t have to share with anybody else.

Anyway, not a whole lot to report at this point.

I arrived here at the Lodge last night to a lot of snow. It’s probably not much to the locals. but 7-8 inches for me is a lot. It didn’t stop until this afternoon. Today was good. I met a lot of the managers and got the tour. The property isn’t very big, but it gets the job done for people looking to snowmobile and play in the snow.

I picked a bad time to get rid of my SUV. While it’s nice to save gas, it would have been nice to have it on these snowy roads! But, so far the Corolla is doing just fine. Today was snowy and foggy. Not a good combo for picture taking. After spending the first part of the day seeing the area and grocery shopping, I came back to my apartment to relax. Just before sunset, i looked outside and realized the skies had clear and the scenery was totally different. I could see mountains and the sky was a bluish pink. So realizing it had dropped 20 degrees, i threw on my new snow gear as quickly as possible and ran outside to take some pics. It was too late though…I got maybe one that was decent.

I don’t start work for a few days, so I’m definitely going to explore if the weather cooperates. Jackson Hole looked awesome, especially if you are a girl and like to shop. I might try and hike the nearby mountain area outside my apartment…get a different view of the area, as well as some much needed exercise. Being sick and having much thinner air up here isn’t a good combo right now. I found it difficult to sleep last night because of it.

Being an hour from the nearest town means i had to do some serious grocery shopping today. Their is no food available at the Lodge for a few more weeks when it opens, so I’ll be living off a simple diet. Hopefully it breaks me out of the fast food diet.

Overall, day one was pretty good, but I think day 2 will be better.

Bought a new car today. Happy to be out of my lease. Didn’t think it would be as easy as it was. When I was finished buying the car, they offered me a job selling them. So that was kinda cool….not that i want to sell cars.

Working near Cleveland this week. Hoping to have time to take a few pics….but probably won’t.

Sideline reporters annoy me. Stupid question after stupid question.

Just got whooped again by my buddy Mark at a friendly match of tennis. He also beat me in table tennis previous to that as well. I need to regain my competitive fire that I seem to have lost at some point during college. I barely broke a sweat, which tells me i probably could of played a little bit harder considering we played 3 sets and it wasn’t cool outside. I should go for a run.

I just saw Tyler Hansbrough randomly find a dog for an AT&T commercial. He wasn’t really featured in the commercial, almost as if he was just trying to break into acting. Not sure if that is a good sign for the Pacers that he’s already looking at other career choices and he hasn’t even played a game yet. You almost don’t even notice it is him…except he had a light blue shirt on it that said “basketball”. Pretty hilarious, and totally plays off his goody goody reputation.

Hoping to go see the movie “Inglorious Bastards” tonight. I hear it’s pretty great.

I find myself at the Comfort Inn in Decatur, Illinois. I’ve had a couple of wonderful nights of sleep here for some reason. I think the beds are helping the cause. Unfortunately housekeeping doesn’t realize i don’t want to be woken up early and they keep knocking on my door and waking me up. Finally i had to ask for a “do not disturb” sign. Hopefully tomorrow i won’t be woken up.

Football has finally started. I went to the Purdue game this past weekend, and the NFL is here this week. That means the weather is going to start getting cooler! I’m excited.

I saw where they are going to do some sort of Seinfeld reunion thingy on the show “curb your enthusiasm”. I’m pretty excited for that. Not sure how that will actually work, but should be pretty interesting.

I feel like i’m getting fat. Seems as though all i do is eat…even though i do work out regularly. But with all the travel, seems like it’s just unhealthier and i’m not as active. Maybe it’s just all mental, but i need to start eating more salad.

So i’m trying to get a new side business up and running. Something of a dream job for me if I could ever get it up and going.

I am pretty excited about fantasy football this season. We just had our auction draft this week. Basically the auction style draft allows everybody to bid on every player, meaning if you really want somebody, you just gotta pony up the money. I did little preparation for this years draft, like less than 2 minutes probably. Needless to say i didn’t have a game plan when it came to who i wanted to draft. So, I ended up with a bunch of average players and one really good one. Based on pre-season statistical predictions, my fantasy team is picked to lose every single game. However, i am very confident that my team is much better than that. I don’t think it’s great, but i think it’s solid. So I am looking forward to proving people wrong.

I just ate a box of hot tamales after eating taco bell. I’m really not gonna be feeling well in the morning. What was i thinking?

Looking forward to getting home tomorrow night. Seems like i’ve been in ohio forever. When i arrived at the first hotel in Zanesville Sunday night, i noticed about 10 police cars blocking off an area just down the street. I was already kinda nervous because the area i was in was really dark and didn’t seem very pleasant. So i went in the room and turned on the tv and apparantly some dude shot a police officer and his dog. It must of happened right as I was checking in the hotel. That was a good feeling and great start to the week.

Been playing a lot of golf lately. The course I played on tuesday was probably the worse course i’ve ever played, but at least it was cheap. It was also nice to get out of the hotel room for a few hours. I need to create a company that plays and rates golf courses. I could come up with a creative ranking system. So many times when i search online to find golf courses, it’s difficult to get a lot of information and to tell what your getting for your money. I need to follow up on this.

Kinda tired of looking at old ladies with a lot of facial hair. 

I’m not sure that if i were a billionaire, that i would want to spend $845 million to buy the Cubs. Seems like if i were a fan of the cubs, it might be more enjoyable to not have a vested interest in how my favorite team performs on a daily basis. I suppose it might be a good investment though.

I was actually cold driving home tonight. Have we had a summer yet? 

Working 6 days in eastern ohio next week. Not exactly looking forward to that. Might just keep driving to the coast when i am done.

I’m stuck in Ft. Wayne the entire week for work. So i’m in a hotel for 4 nights. I just came upon a local Ft. Wayne station showing local women’s roller derby. It’s quite hilarious. It’s taking place at the local skating rink. Lots of hefty girls rolling around the rink throwing elbows and wearing clothing that is way too tight. Entertaining nonetheless.  Kinda a train wreck you can’t take your eyes off of.

I ate 4 arby’s subs today. Is that bad? They were 2 for 4$ and i had them for both lunch and dinner.  

I don’t understand Larry King’s shoulders. They stick up so high. 

Shocked to hear Coach Mawbey taking a coaching job at Broad Ripple. They need to make a reality show out of it. Would be pretty entertaining. Maybe I should do a documentary about the season of change at Broad Ripple.

Cubs suck. How can they be so un-fun to watch.

I find myself in Louisville tonight. I’ve been working down here all week. I’m staying at a Suburban extended stay hotel. It’s pretty sweet. I’m paying less than what i have been paying at some pretty crappy hotels, and yet the quality is much better. I have a full size fridge, a stove, microwave, and even a dishwasher. Not too mention the flat screen tv and large closet space. So i’m pretty happy and surprised at how cheap it is. 

At work we get paid via the draw system. So basically that means i’m straight commission. Today I did so bad and sold so little, i figured I actually owe the company about $30 for showing up for work today. Pretty amazing and disheartening really. 

I need to play some golf.
